Homers Celebrate General George Gordon Meade's 197th Birthday

Monday December 31st, 2012 would have been General George Gorden Meade's 197th Birthday.

Each year on the General's Birthday, members and guests of the  the General Meade Society of Philadelphia assemble at the General's graveside at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia.

Honorees and Guest Speakers often include veterans and noteworthy historians.

Champagne is served to all who are present, for it was by far, the General's favorite beverage.
